Unconscious Bias

Unconscious Bias

Course Aim

Throughout the day our brains take in information, only a small amount is processed. The rest is sorted by our subconscious using patterns we have been exposed to throughout our life. This avoids us being overwhelmed and enables the brain to pull it to mind when needed without using up mental energy. Unconscious bias comes from this natural and necessary survival mechanism. This course looks at how we can recognise our unconscious biases. We recommend that this course is a starting point for addressing unconscious bias that may exist in your workplace.
