Connected Care

Evolving Digital
Solutions for
Care Providers

Where are you on your digital journey?

There is a surge towards digital solutions within care. Whether you are leading the way, or struggling to keep up, we can help you find the right solutions for your care setting through connected care.

The Starting Point.

Care providers have been impeded by the volume of administration and bureaucracy associated with caring for others. External agencies expected care providers to record every movement, every breath, and every blink in triplicate. Having seen the creation of the paperwork expected to give ‘notification of a death within a care home’ it is astonishing the level of duplication and communication channels required.

The adage of “If it’s not recorded, it didn’t happen” leaves huge holes in the true picture of care being delivered, for the better and for the worse. Lots of great, caring moments and interactions will have gone unrecorded over the years, mainly because people often start a career in care due to their caring nature, not their desire to sit and record 3 hours of notes at the end of a shift.

The Current Capabilities.

Our clients are at various stages of their digital evolution. Some have launched a handful of digital tools to satisfy the basic requirements for digital care records, whilst some clients are in the forefront, testing new applications for software and integrating digital solutions to leverage data and connected care.

A lot of care providers fall into the routine of using a multitude of software suppliers offering a vast range of solutions and accept this as the norm. The result can be that care professionals are expected to remember an unmanageable list of passwords and access credentials and be forced to use different browsers and devices to complete daily tasks. Under these circumstances, some could question whether the use of software is enhancing personable care.

Imagine a world where the digital solutions you used were integrated, reducing the burden of duplication, reducing the burden of log in details, improving the flow of data across health and social care, and improving the balance between admin tasks and care delivery. Imagine a world where care staff were given more time to engage with the individuals around them and improve the interactions that make your organisation truely caring.

Redcrier have recently been acquired by PCS to add training to the suite of digital solutions available through the Connected Care platform.

That is the world which Redcrier wants to invite you into. Through the recent acquisition of Redcrier by Person Centered Software (PCS) we are working towards a digital solution spanning all aspects of your care delivery. PCS already have many digital solutions that form connected care, see the header image on this page for links to all PCS products.

The Future Possibilities.

Training, as we know, is the foundation for outstanding care and we are working on integrations that will result in live, in-the-moment, and responsive solutions to help you evolve your organisation. The driving force for PCS acquiring Redcrier was ‘art of the possible’ once the market leading care planning software (mCare) was bolstered by market leading LMS (eBox).

Post acquisition we are working towards joining up care systems. One immediate benefit could be a single sign on. The more sophisticated benefits will include checking training compliance ahead of actions being carried out by carers and recorded in mCare (care planning software).

For example, when an individual’s care plan must change due to unforeseen circumstance, at which point the integrated systems would automatically check whether the carers’ training was appropriate and aligned with the changed requirements and whether that training is current. This could mean that carers are presented with bite size units of training before interacting with that individual. This automatic check could be triggered by an individual’s manual handling protocol changing overnight, or a near miss medication error being flagged, or by policy updates (localised or widescale). All relevant staff would be presented with a competency check automatically mitigating risk, auditing due diligence, and spotlighting areas of strength and weakness.

We are excited about the possibilities now that we are part of the PCS family of digital solutions. Bookmark this page as we will post updates and integrations as they happen.
