The Care Worker

Understand the role of Care Worker

Course aim

Due to an ageing population, there is an increasing demand on social care services and an increase in social care jobs. It has been estimated that by 2025 an additional 275,000 jobs will have been created. With the implementation of the Care Act 2014 and the integration of health care and social care, there are many jobs being created that integrate the two areas to provide a more joined up approach between the two sectors. This means it is now more important that people wishing to work in care build a strong foundation of knowledge on which they can continue to develop a wide range of skills to enable them to compete in this growing market place.

Working in care is a valued profession giving job satisfaction and a career pathway. This manual aims to set you on that path towards becoming a highly valued care worker.
